Youth Refugee Council, a self-organized group of young refugees, invites young people with or without refugee background to a Youth Conference.

Youth Refugee Council, a self-organized group of young refugees in Baden-Württemberg, and Evangelische Akademie Bad Boll invite young people with or without refugee background to a Youth Conference. The aim of the conference is to provide the participants an opportunity to discuss the topic of Homeland and to find out more about (new) homeland(s) using creative dialog and arts.

Together, the participants develop a vision for selforganization of young refugees in their new homeplace(s). They share experiences among each other and learn more about their countries and cultures by means of literature, photography, theatre, poetry. Last but not least, the participants develop the conference into an intercultural platform for a lively discussion on the topic “new homeland and youth participation”.

The conference will be held in english.

Participants’ profile

We are looking for young people who want be involved in building up a Youth Refugee Council as a platform for self-organization for young refugees in Baden-Württemberg or to create initiative groups that are supporting refugees.

The Youth Conference provides space for intercultural exchange to following participants:

  • young refugees in Baden-Württemberg
  • young people who engage in refugee work on local level as well as representatives of youth organizations, associations, clubs or communities
  • young people from the scholarship program “talent in the country”

Organizational matters

Costs

The Youth Conference is financed by the “Children‘s Literature summer 2016” of Baden-Württemberg Foundation. Therefore, the delegates do not have to pay any fees, nor for accommodation.
